Treasure Hunt Sintra
Your team will embark on a quest to uncover a hidden Moorish treasure, guided by a series of historical maps and cleverly designed clues. This interactive urban game features 5 to 6 supporting maps, each revealing fascinating insights into Sintra’s past while challenging teams to think strategically, collaborate and solve problems under time pressure. The treasure is revealed only once all clues have been solved and the first team to uncover it claims victory.
Highlights
Each map includes historical explanations of iconic Sintra landmarks such as Pena Palace, the Moorish Castle, Sintra Old Town and Sintra National Palace.
Long ago, high above the misty hills of Sintra, King Ferdinand II built a palace not for power, but for love. A foreign prince who fell under Sintra’s spell, Ferdinand chose the ruins of an ancient monastery and transformed them into Pena Palace, a dream in stone and color, inspired by his devotion to Queen Maria II.
Together they imagined a fairytale refuge, blending Moorish arches, Gothic towers, and secret gardens filled with plants from distant lands. But fate was cruel, Maria II died before the palace was complete. Broken hearted, Ferdinand finished the palace in her memory, hiding within Sintra a final symbol of their love.
Legend says that this hidden treasure still waits for those clever enough to follow the clues, read the signs of history and uncover the secret left behind by the Romantic King.
