Carcavelos Beach

Carcavelos Beach Lisbon

With 300 days of sunshine per year in Lisbon, it is good to know that you can enjoy those days on a beach.

While the city itself does not have beach, a good one is not far away. Head to the train station of Cais Sodre, and hop on a 20 min train ride to Carcavelos beach, the locals favorite beach with lots to offer.  Going to the beach is a great way to spend some time while you are in Lisbon enjoying your weekend. It is a relatively large beach so close to Lisbon. Surfers, Wind Surfers and Bodyboarders can be spotted on this beach searching for good waves. Just watching them is an experience of its own. Surrounding the beach, there is a pedestrian area full of restaurants, coffee shops and bars where you can enjoy the sun and just simply – stare at the sea. If you are hungry, try one of the following.
